The ASP® Original or Sedatelec Semi-Permanent Needle was created in France in collaboration with Dr Paul Nogier. It has been used on a daily basis by many practitioners, hospitals and pain centers throughout the world for over 40 years.
The shape of the Semi-Permanent Needle makes it the most common and effective way to provide long-term stimulation of the Auricular Acupuncture points.
The ASP® Original is comprised of a small needle placed in a plastic injector. This injector makes it easy for the practitioner to hold and precisely implant the needle in the ear while ensuring it remains sterile. Once in place, the needle can be protected by an adhesive plaster.

- Manufacture by Sedatelec in France in clean rooms, perfect quality and excellent behaviour of materials over time
- Needle for a single use sterilised by Gamma radiation (shelf life 5 years). CE 0123 mark.
In 2004, a new ASP®, the ASP® Perma made its appearance.
It can be implanted and used by medical personnel trained in auricular acupuncture techniques.
