Pulse form

To ensure high-quality electric stimulation, Sedatelec has developed a specific wave form delivered by its current generator, the Agistim Duo. The current pulses are two-phased with a zero mean.

The perfect balance:
two-phased with
a zero mean pulse

The current pulses are two-phased with a zero mean, meaning that the quantity of electrical energy imbued by the positive pulse is immediately compensated for by a negative pulse imbuing the same amount of energy.

Nonetheless, the two phases are not identical. The positive pulse is rectangular, for a net effect with constant intensity, whereas the negative pulse is progressive, for physiological re-balancing managed by the organism itself.

The positive pulse lasts a set time of 0.4ms, which is enough for the organism to respond to the stimulation, and also enough for rebalancing and rest between two pulses, even at the highest frequency, 100Hz (100Hz corresponds to 100 pulses per second, so one pulse every 10ms).

There are no continuous components, thus avoiding the risk of electrolysis and burns from contact with the needles. This is a very important point when choosing an electrical stimulator.
